Victoria Society for Children with Autism is a welcoming, innovative organization that provides assistance to families and caretakers of children with autism in the Greater Victoria Area. We work in partnership with other groups, organizations, financial supporters and volunteers in our community. Volunteers will undergo a brief orientation and are bound by the same legal and ethical responsibilities as staff. The screening process includes a criminal record check and the volunteer is to provide at least two references to be checked.

Volunteer Opportunities

Board of Directors

Duties- attend Board meetings, help make decisions affecting our organization and serve on committees as needed.

Time Commitment – approximately 3-4 hours per month.

Event Planing Team

Duties- assist in choosing family or teen event location and date, coordinate with vendor as required, attend and support successful family, teen or parent event.

Time Commitment – approximately 3-4 hours per month.

Mentor Mom / Mentor Dad

Duties- be available to meet with newly diagnosed parents to simply offer support and help navigate the resources available to our community.

Time Commitment – approximately 1-2 hours as needed.

Special Events – Fundraising

Duties- assisting at various fundraising events throughout the year.

Time Commitment – variable (event approximately 2-4 hours)

Grant research

Duties- can include assisting treasurer with finding new financial supporters and assisting with grant writing and fundraising.

Time Commitment – approximately 3-4 hours as needed.
