The diagnosis of your child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can be daunting, and can signal incoming changes for your family. However, a diagnosis can provide you and your child with greater access to resources that can support them, their education, and social life. Assessment

Queen Alexandra Centre for Children’s Health

In Victoria, the Queen Alexandra Centre is home to the Vancouver Island Children’s Assessment Network, which provides assessment services for children on Vancouver Island with complex developmental needs. They also provide services such as Supported Child Development and the Early Intervention Program.

Private Autism Assessments

Dr. Kyle Phipps is currently offering private assessments with relatively low costs and wait times (Victoria and Duncan).

Dr. Kelly Price is one of the only psychologists in Victoria who offers private assessments.

Variety- the Children’s Charity is providing funding for private assessments. For more information on the application process, click here.

Other Resources available for Pre-Diagnosed Families

Other resources for children with unique needs, such as autism, even if currently undiagnosed, are available. Assessments can be costly, and have long waitlists, however you are still eligible for support from a number of places. Check out these resources below.
