– “bio-psycho-social-environmental approach to person centered planning”
– The basic premise of this topic is that individuals with complex needs such as individuals on the Autism spectrum require a multidimensional approach to address all their needs. In practical terms, this means that parents, caregivers and individuals themselves need to look at every aspect of their lives, connect with relevant services and somehow coordinate all of them towards a framework that maximize gains for the individual.

Teresa Everitt joined the AutismBC in 2014 and brought over thirty years of experience as a community innovator, volunteer, and as a foster parent to her role. Teresa’s personal interest in supporting individuals with autism comes from being a parent to four adult children, two of which have been diagnosed with ASD. She has spent most of her adult life supporting individuals with ASD to be the best they can be. Teresa’s presentation will be about “Launch Into Life” an innovative program that supports families to begin creating goals to prepare their youth to transition to adulthood.
